Superman is a fictional American superhero. Joe Shuster and Jerry Siegel in the year 1932 came up with this very idea. However, this superhero’s first appearance came into the picture in June 1938 in a publication of action comics. Since the time of his debut, he has been featured in television shows, newspaper strips, comic books, movies, and video games. It has also remained one of the major driving forces behind the popularity of superheroes that has resulted in superhero costumes, blockbusters, and many action figures.

His trademark costume consists of red, blue, and a yellow outfit. It also compromises the red cape that has a capital letter S printed on the chest.

Superman In Comics

Superman was in numerous comics and movies in the past year. However, the character made his first appearance in DC Comics in the year 1938. Also, in the year 1938, he appeared in his comic series titled ‘New York world Fair Comics.’ However, later on, it becomes the ‘World’s Finest Comics,’ which made a frequent appearance that made him a part of the justice society of America.

Many other comics are based on the character. That includes superboy, super hero’s family, superman’s girlfriend Lois Lane. In the year 2003, the Batman/Superman was published, and later on, the justice league adventures also published that featured the different superheroes includes the superman.

By the year 1986, a brand new series of the said character was created that was named as the man of steel. In the same year, the world’s famous comics of canceled and was renamed by adventures of superman. However, in the year 1991, they canceled the man of steel comic and came out by the name of Man of Tomorrow, and it ran from the year of 1995-1999.

The several onscreen adaptations made by Superman. From the year of 1952- 1958, George Reeves played out the role of this superhero in TV series. Moreover, by the late 1960s, the animated series was created the same. From the year of 1993-1997, Dean Cain played the role of Superman in the series of Clark & Lois: The New Adventures of Superman. From the year 2001-2011, Tom Welling started to play the role of a teenage Clark Kent in Smallville.

Superman In Movies

The movies have also achieved cinema success. The very first film was in the name of Superman, which starred Christopher Reeve. The film was successful with several sequels, such as Superman 2, 3, and 4 series.

Superman’s Influence On Superheroes

His popularity has been widening in the American genre of superhero comics and movies. The DC comics have often come out with new superheroes such as the aqua man, batman, and wonder woman. Also, it has created a craze among the people. They did this by making their trademark costumes loved by their fans, especially the kids.
